The Cyber Security Club conducted the inauguration of their club and an expert talk on the matter of cyber security on 5th August,2022 to create awareness about cybercrimes and how to be aware of any cyber threats that you may face and to tell career path of cyber security specialist and ethical hackers. The program started at 11.30 pm. The program began with the prayer of our college. The guest of honour was Mr. A. M. Sharma, PSI, Cyber Crime Cell, Anand and accompanying him was Mr. Joshi. Mr. Sharma was felicitated by our principal Mr. Vishal Singh, Principal was felicitated by Dr. Krunal Patel, Dr. Krunal Patel was felicitated by Prof. Mayur Ajmeri. It was followed by an introduction from our principal about the need of awareness about cybercrimes and the need to have precautions and security measures against them. Afterwards, Mr. A. M. Sharma was called on to the podium by the principal. He gave us a brief introduction about him and team who were present at the program and thanked the principal and event coordinators for inviting him and this occasion. The podium was then handed to Mr. Joshi, part of Mr. Sharma’s team. He told us about various types of cybercrimes occurring and how common it has become from traditional crimes. Further He told us about the motives behind such attacks. The audience was also very interested in the topics and were very engaging with the speakers. He ended the speech by saying to be very cautious of who we make friends in the internet and to be aware of what information’s we are giving to others when visiting sketchy websites. Mr. Sharma told us about E-FIR portal where you can register your complaints from the comfort of your home. He also told us that the golden time of reporting a cybercrime in under 1 hour or 2 hours. Furthermore, He told the steps on how to file a complaint and the process behind it on how it is determined that the given complaint is authentic or not.
Next, the co-founder of the Cyber security club, Mr. Rishiraj Parmar, briefly explained about the course that will be taught in the club and why this club was formed. Moreover, told us about the career opportunities of cyber security specialists and ethical hackers. A vote of thanks was said by our host, Aastha Kaur, to all the principal, guest of honour, all the members of the club and all the students who attended the program. The program ended by 1 pm with recitation of our national anthem. Dr. Ravi Sheth started the workshop by giving a brief introduction of himself. Installation of Kali Linux was done by the participants as the workshop was based on it.
